I am Afiyah AKA Dominique, the founder of Afiyah Thee Alchemist, and my journey to this space of healing, alignment, and empowerment has been anything but linear. Like so many others, I spent a large part of my life trying to fit into the molds created by societal expectations, family dynamics, and unhealthy relationships. Growing up with a lack of support and feeling misunderstood, I fell into the generational patterns of people-pleasing, self-neglect, and disconnection from my true self.
My wake-up call came when I found myself in the most unhealthy version of my life. At 104 lbs, I was malnourished, emotionally drained, and stuck in a relationship with a covert narcissist—an energy vampire who only magnified the demons I was avoiding within myself. I realized that the same patterns of lack, insecurity, and fear were being reflected back to me through this partner, and I was caught in a cycle that I could no longer endure.
I knew something had to change. The path to happiness required me to take a radical leap of faith.
I began making big changes in every aspect of my life—starting with my mindset, my health, and my spiritual practice. I explored ancestral healing, energy work, and the power of divine feminine energy. I embarked on a solo trip to the UAE, seeking not only adventure but clarity, healing, and purpose. It was there, far from the distractions of everyday life, that I reconnected with my true self and realized my calling.
Afiyah was born out of that transformative experience. Afiyah, which means “well-being” and “wholeness,” represents the journey I took to reclaim my vitality, strength, and sense of purpose. I knew that in order to live fully and help others do the same, I needed to embrace a philosophy that nurtures the peaceful mind, electric body, and loving soul—a holistic approach to wellness that addresses the root of dis-ease and empowers each person to step into their highest self.
Through Afiyah Thee Alchemist, I offer a pleura of services to guide others through their own journeys of self-discovery and spiritual awakening. I believe that when we break free from the generational cycles of trauma, neglect, and disconnection, we open the door to true healing and transformation.
